Description
Choose a drill for the job
The Makita M0800M is sold as one tool unit. A compact corded choice for drilling fixing holes in masonry and handling wood or metal drilling with the correct bit. Its two modes let you select rotation only or rotation with hammer action.
Verified model details
The 500 W model has variable speed and reverse, a side grip and a keyed chuck. Makita lists drilling capacities of 10 mm in concrete, 10 mm in steel and 20 mm in wood. These are material-specific limits, not a promise that every bit or fixing is suitable.
Get the accessory fit right
Use a suitable masonry bit for masonry work, and switch to rotation-only drilling for wood or metal with the correct accessory. A straight-shank bit must fit within the chuck range; an SDS-plus bit is not a direct fit for this chuck. Keep the chuck key out of the chuck before starting. For screwdriving, match the bit tip to the screw and use controlled speed.
Confirm what comes with your unit
Confirm the supplied side grip, chuck key and packaging before dispatch. Drill bits, anchors, screws and a carrying case are not automatically included. Product artwork is a reference illustration, not a photograph of your reserved stock.
Before drilling a wall
Identify the wall material and check for concealed electrical cables and plumbing. Follow the tool manual, secure loose workpieces, control dust and use suitable eye and hearing protection. Heavy or overhead fixings require an appropriate anchor and substrate assessment; a drilled hole alone does not establish a safe load rating.
