Water Tanks & Pressure Systems

Water storage and pressure systems should be selected according to household demand, pump capability and available installation space. Compare tanks and bladder pressure vessels by usable or nominal capacity, maximum working pressure, vertical or horizontal orientation and the manufacturer’s allowed water-system configuration.

A pressure tank is not interchangeable with an ordinary storage tank. Check the pump’s cut-in and cut-out settings, pre-charge requirements, connection size and suitability for the intended water supply. For a backup-water project, plan where the tank will stand, whether the floor can support its filled weight and how maintenance access will be provided.
