Choose the right paint for your project
B701 can be used as the primer in Boysen’s recommended painting system. It can also be used for a flat white topcoat. Primer and topcoat are separate applications; plan for a primer coat followed by two topcoats, with surface preparation appropriate to your project.

How much paint will you need?
Boysen gives theoretical coverage of 25–30 m² per 4L as primer and 30–35 m² per 4L as topcoat, at its specified dry-film thickness of 1.7–1.4 mils. These figures describe an application, not a finished multi-coat project. Texture, porosity and application affect actual consumption.

Preparation and drying
Start with a properly prepared, clean and dry surface. Follow Boysen’s guidance for new surfaces, repainting, putty and any required surface treatment. B701 is touch-dry in approximately 30 minutes and can be recoated after 1 hour when measured at 25°C and 50% relative humidity; site conditions can change drying time.
