Palm Sander

Palm or finishing sanders support suitable smoothing and coating preparation where a compact flat sanding base is helpful. Compare the Makita and Powerhouse models by sanding-pad dimensions, abrasive-sheet attachment, speed and dust-collection arrangement. A rectangular palm sander generally uses different sheets from a round random-orbit sander.

Before purchase, verify the paper dimensions, clamps or hook-and-loop system, and whether replacement sheets or a collection bag are provided. Choose the grit for the material and finishing stage, and work with the grain where appropriate. Use reliable dust control and appropriate respiratory protection, especially around unknown existing paint or coating layers.
