Impact Wrench

An impact wrench is designed for compatible mechanical fastening and loosening, but drive size and actual torque capability matter more than voltage alone. Compare cordless and pneumatic units by square-drive size, operating modes, breakaway or fastening torque, power source and available impact sockets.

Check the model’s battery family, charger and tool-only versus kit contents before ordering. Use properly rated impact sockets rather than ordinary hand-tool sockets. Tightening wheel nuts and other critical fasteners should finish with a calibrated torque wrench set to the manufacturer’s specification; do not rely solely on an impact wrench’s highest setting.
