Gasoline

Gasoline generators provide portable power for approved applications when mains supply is unavailable. Compare models using rated continuous wattage, short-term starting output, inverter or conventional design, starting method, fuel-tank capacity and receptacle configuration. Appliance motors and pumps may draw substantially more power when starting.

List the devices you plan to operate together and check their combined running and startup requirements before choosing a generator. Confirm the model’s rated voltage, frequency, maintenance schedule and the suitability of sensitive electronics. Operate engine-driven generators outdoors only, well away from doors, windows and air intakes, because exhaust contains deadly carbon monoxide.
